Why choose The Dogwood?

The Dogwood is a bespoke venue in St. Louis unlike any other. From the Grand Staircase with a 2 story chandelier and larger than life marble topped bar, to the expansive terrace with a Euro-wall and clear eyesight to the streets below, this modern and luxe space is equipped with breathtaking features and amenities that are sure to leave you and your guests speechless. The Dogwood is located on Manchester right in the heart of The Grove which creates an atmosphere and experience unlike any other. This venue is owned and operated by The Social Affair Boutique Catering and Event Design - the premier caterer in St. Louis with over 13 years of experience. What is the capacity of the dogwood?

Depending on the desired layout of your event, the number of guests can change.

What is the rental fee for a wedding or private event?

The rental fee for a wedding or private event varies by day of the week AND CAN BE FOUND HERE. Included in the fee is parking, modern china, flatware, and glassware, state of the art sound system, and much more FOUND HERE.

How do I book an event?

a booking deposit (50% of the venue rental fee) and signed contract are all you need to book your event.

How long do I have the event space for?

The rental fee ensures that you will have the space for 4 hours. If you wish to have your ceremony at the dogwood we would add an additional hour. Vendors can gain access to the building 4 hours prior to the start of your event. Guests may arrive at the start time of your event.

For a ceremony + reception event from 6 – 11:

doors open for Vendors at 2pm

access to magnolia lounge at 2pm

doors open for guests at 6pm

ceremony at 6:30pm

cocktail hour at 7pm

dinner + dancing from 8-11pm

strike 11pm - 12am

For a reception only event from 6 – 10:

doors open for vendors at 2pm

access to magnolia lounge at 2pm

doors open for guests at 6pm

event ends at 10pm

strike 10-11pm


*everything that comes in that day must be taken out that night.

Are there any restrictions to the vendors I can use?

Our only exclusive vendor is The Social Affair Boutique Catering who will cover food and bar services. We have a great relationship with a variety of vendors in the St. Louis area. For more information click here.

Do I need to hire an event planner or coordinator?

While we do have a talented venue manager on site, They are in charge of overseeing venue related tasks. The venue manager does not take place of a wedding planner. Can I provide my own bartenders/alcohol?

Bar service and alcohol is provided exclusively through The Social Affair. Outside food and alcohol will not be permitted. For more information on our food and bar packages click here.

What other services or items do you provide?

Is there a dressing area on site?

The magnolia Lounge is now available! it is located on the first floor of the building directly to the east of the dogwood (4306 manchester ave) and has 2 separate spaces for the wedding parties - the peacock room + the grove room. the space can be locked to ensure the safety of personal belongings. access to this lounge starts 4 hours prior to guest arrival. an additional 4 hours can be added for $500.

Where do my guests park?

Parking is available to guests at the Family Care Health Center located at 4352 Manchester Ave (a one-minute walk from the Dogwood). We are also happy to set up valet parking for your guests.

Is smoking or vaping allowed?

Smoking and vaping are not allowed in the building or on the terrace of the Dogwood. However, guests may smoke or vape outside the building. the garden is the perfect spot for cigar lounges!

what candles/decor are allowed?

Candles that are contained in votives are allowed. However, the Dogwood will not permit open flames or taper candles. This will help us create a safe atmosphere for all.  we do not allow glitter or confetti of any kind - this includes on guest attire.

Is the dogwood pet friendly?

While all of us here at the Dogwood are big pet people, we want to make sure that your event goes off without a hitch. Pets are allowed during your ceremony, but we ask that your beloved furry friends be taken home afterwards. No party animals allowed! Am I responsible for cleanup?

Any personal décor, centerpieces, signage, etc. will be your responsibility. However, the Dogwood staff will ensure that the venue is spotless when you leave. We will coordinate with other vendors to determine their clean up procedures. clean up does need to occur immediately after your event. no personal or decor items will be allowed to stay in the dogwood overnight.

Do my vendors need to provide their own insurance?

Yes – Vendors must provide a certificate of insurance. Please have your vendors contact us with any questions info@thesocialaffairstl.com

Is the building handicap accessible?

Yes – the building is ADA compliant and features a massive elevator to access both levels as well as ramp access to restrooms.
